2018 BOARD OF ADMINISTRATORS
Swiss Mountain Village is an "Interval Ownership" resort, which also offers daily and weekly rentals. The log cabins at Swiss Mountain Village are built of natural materials that blend into the surrounding environment. Cabin walls are made of rough-hewn logs, complemented by a native stone fireplace. The Swiss chalets feature a unique architectural design. The stairway to the loft actually takes you over the stone fireplace.
All of our units are completely furnished with towels, linens, complete kitchens, and washers & dryers. One-bedroom units have a queen-size bed and a queen-size sleeper sofa. Two-bedroom units have either a queen-size bed and two twin beds, or two queen-size beds.
The loft units have one bedroom with a queen-size bed, and two twin beds in the loft. Some loft units have a half bath in the loft. Our three bedroom unit has two bedrooms each with a queen-size bed,
and a third bedroom with a full-size sleeper sofa. This is the only unit with two full
bathrooms. Finally, our studio units have one room with a queen-size bed, a queen-size sleeper sofa, a four place dining table, and the kitchen, all in one room.
There is nothing fancy about Swiss Mountain Village.
Our style leans more towards comfortable mountain home, than bright modern condo.
Our log cabins and chalets have two to four units per building. Each unit has a front porch with two rocking chairs.
Our property is nestled in a small valley, with two spring fed ponds; the larger of the two is stocked with rainbow trout during the warmer months. Mallard ducks call Swiss Mountain Village home, living here year-round, and waddling around the entire property.
Our buildings are spread out over twelve acres on the side of the mountain.
During the winter months when snow is on the ground, vehicles without all-wheel or four-wheel drive are prohibited from driving up the hill road. We are blessed to be located in a temperate rain forest along the Blue Ridge of the Appalachian mountains.
Our owners and guests love to simply sit in rockers or beside the pond and breathe in our clean mountain air. Our resort is a quiet, family resort.
For over thirty years, our owners have treasured their time here; and some are now bringing their great-grandchildren. Leave your daily frustrations and worries
for a rejuvenating get-away in the North Carolina High Country.
STEVE DOWNS – General Manager

He has three school-age children and one out of school, who also live in the area. Please stop by and see Steve in the office or out on the grounds soon.
DONNA FISHER – Marketing and Administration
Donna came to SMV in the Summer of 2018. Her extensive skill and experience in the Hospitality business, together with her quick wit and infectious laugh, are tremendous assets to SMV.
In her own words:
"Moving to the High Country felt like coming home for me. I've lived here for more than 7 years and every day feels new and full of possibility. I am excited to be a part of the wonderful staff here at SMV and will serve our owners and guests to the best of my ability. When not in the office, I can be found hiking, snowboarding, or spending time with friends."
CASEY STARNES - Guest Services Coordinator
Casey was born and raised in Blowing Rock and currently lives in Newland, NC, with her husband, Harley, and daughter, Delilah. She loves meeting new people and looks forward to serving the needs of the owners and guests of SMV.
JESSIE MCKINNEY – Housekeeping Supervisor
Jesse was born and raised in Elk Park, NC, very near here. He came to SMV as a Housekeeper in 2017 and has provided all of our owners and guests excellent service since that time. Due to his impeccable record, he was promoted to Housekeeping Supervisor in November of 2017. Besides SMV, Jesse has 3 dogs that occupy most of his time away.
Our Saturday Housekeeping staff is a dedicated group of folks, who usually work only on Saturdays to get all of our units ready for check-in. Most have been with us for several years. We would be unable to operate without these hard working people, who most owners and guests never get to meet.
